''I just bought my next project!!
He is a Unhandled gelding that I named Enzo. I don't know much more than : approx 8yo, approx 14hh, pulled out of the meat truck a year ago by the woman I bought him from.
I do not know how far I will be able to go with him. But the experience gain from it will be huge and worth it.''
That's what I wrote when I bought him. After further research and contacting people, I am now pretty sure that Enzo is actually a wild horse of Alberta. He would have been rounded up a bit more than a year ago and sent in for meat. The lady I bought him form is located in Ontario. She pulled him out of this bad situation, gelded him, and planned on working with him but her plate was too full. He stayed there a whole year before he was listed for sale and I bought him. After a 1 week trip on a stock trailer, he finally came to me December 15.

Above is the picture from his sales ad. Even fat and muddy, I thought he was beautiful!
For comparison, here are some Alberta wild horses on the left and Enzo on the right. They do look extremely similar...

What are my plans for him?
I bought Enzo as a project horse.
My goal with him is to go as far as we can get, given my limmited experience (he is my first Unhandled horse) and then find him a wonderful, forever home where he will be happy.
We are mutually helping each other; he helps me gain skills and experience and I help him gain the necessary training in order to have all the odds on his side when the time will come to rehome him.
The less training a horse has, the less likely they are to stay long at the same place. This is why I do what I do!
I started a journal to document our journey together. Follow us in this great adventure!

Wish you luck with Enzo. I’ve watched some of your videos and you are very gentle and I predict Enzo will warm to you. I’m behind the times so he probably already has come a long way
Thank you Steve!
Yes, we have come a long way since and he is indeed getting more and more comfortable with me.
I will keep posting our weekly progress in my blog when I have time to do so and will also upload our monthly recaps here. And of course, I'll keep posting videos on my FB page!
Thank you for following our journey, and I am glad you enjoy it!
